MORRIS: A LIFE WITH BELLS ON
FEATURE FILM - TWIST FILMS
'The Morris Movie' as it is affectionately known is fast becoming a cult phenomenon. Adam plays the role of Boothby Pagnell, a ballet trained Morris dancer, in this heart warming documentary style feature film. Boothby is an odd ball West Country man, famed for his precision 'hanky' work, but with a mysterious dark side. Produced by Twist Films, and directed by Lucy Akhurst, the film is currently on a mini release in Southern England, with publicity building up to hopefully get a major distribution deal. Further details of the film, where you can see it, and of the petition to get it into major cinemas can be found at www.morrismovie.com.
MISTRESSES
BBC TELEVISION
The second series of Mistresses airs in February on BBC1. Adam plays Ben, a man coming to terms with his life as he faces death. Poignant and pulling on the heartstrings, this is a much more gentle piece to see Adam playing.

BLIND MAN'S BLUFF
FEATURE FILM - EYELINE ENTERTAINMENT
Based on the novel 'A Closed Book' by Gilbert Adair and directed by Raoul Ruiz, Blind Man's Bluff tells the story of a writer, blinded in a car accident who employs someone to help write his new book, but as much more than a mere scribe. Starring Daryl Hannah and Tom Conti, filming finished late last year, and Adam's direct-to-camera cameo will definitely make you smile.
HOLBY CITY
BBC TELEVISION
Adam made his debut in Holby City as Dion Sands - a troubled character to say the least. Dion's explosive visit to the hospital made for a gripping episode under the direction of Bill Macleod.
THE COLOUR OF MAGIC
THE MOB FILM COMPANY
2008 saw the release on Sky of Terry Pratchett's The Colour of Magic, the follow-up to Hogfather which was released in 2006. Directed by Vadim Jean, Adam played alongside some well known British and American actors, as The Master Launch Controller. The Colour of Magic is now available on DVD.
HE KILLS COPPERS
ECOSSE FILMS
Adam was given the opportunity to slip back into his native Wiltshire accent to play a policeman in the 80's. Written by Jake Arnott, adapted by Ed Whitmore and directed by Adrian Shergold, this gritty crime drama saw Adam in full police uniform, complete with bad 'tache and equally dodgy haircut.
THE COLLECTOR
ALMA TAVERN THEATRE, BRISTOL
Adam performed as Frederick Clegg, a repressed, introverted butterfly collector who admires a beautiful, privileged art student to the point of obsession... However he finds that when he blurs the line between fantasy and reality the repercussions bring in their wake devastating consequences. By John Fowles, adapted by Mark Healy. Directed by Stuart Harvey as a part of the Director's Cuts season.
"Adam Ewan's Clegg is suitably shifty-eyed and squirming without descending into caricature and allows us to share the butterfly collector's inadequacy, loneliness and repressed desires. Live theatre of this calibre is a real bargain at just £6 a ticket." - Steve Lambert, Bristol Evening Post.
SPOTLIGHT GRADUATE SHOWCASE
TURNMILLS, FARRINGDON, LONDON
Adam was chosen by Bristol Old Vic Theatre School as a Spotlight Prize Nominee 2007. Each year, every Principal from a CDS school nominates their leading students (one male, one female) to raise the profile of the UK’s most promising final-year drama students. Adam performed a scene from "Breathing Corpses" by Laura Wade, in the Spotlight showcase with fellow Bristol Old Vic nominee, Notzarina Reevers.
"By far and away one of the highlights of the evening was the graduating students of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Adam Ewan and Notzarina Reevers. These actors had chosen their scene impeccably and displayed a thorough understanding of the emotional content, negotiating the awkwardness of the couple with a staggering honesty." - Paul Vale, The Stage.
THE VICAR OF WAKEFIELD
BRISTOL OLD VIC STUDIO
Adam successfully took on the weighty role of the Reverend Charles Primrose in the BOVTS production of Goldsmith's "The Vicar of Wakefield" at the Bristol Old Vic Studio, adapted and directed by the school's principle, Chris Denys.
